Making a Splash – FORTH2O Partnership Induction Event

On 18 June 2024, the FORTH2O team gathered for its official Partnership Induction Event at the Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh, marking a major milestone in the project’s set-up phase. The event brought together representatives from partner organisations for a productive day of collaboration, planning, and networking.

In the first five months, key achievements have set the stage for a successful rollout of the next phases of work. Key work packages will focus on natural capital, health and wellbeing, and developing a data lab for scenario building and decision support.

The event also marked the official rebranding of the project from Stirling LPIP to FORTH2O (pronounced ‘FORTH-TWO-EAU’), a name that reflects both the geographic focus on the Forth region and the project’s focus on water. The Partnerships is also about ‘optimising outcomes’, which is two ‘Os’; has a ‘Hydro Observatory’ and a ‘Social Observatory’, which is a further two ‘Os’; and is looking at innovative, or ‘2.0’, ways of thinking and doing.A new logo, designed to reflect these principles, was also unveiled at the event.

As the project progresses, the team is excited to continue collaborating with its diverse network of partners, including academic institutions, local authorities, and private sector stakeholders. Together, FORTH2O aims to deliver tangible, community-driven solutions that optimise water resource value while promoting sustainable, inclusive growth across the region.
